On may 19 the festival «Day of Finland” was held for the first time in St. Petersburg. The organizers of this festival were: Scandinavian School, travel agency “Visit Finland”, the Consulate General and the Institute of Finland in St. Petersburg. The festival was held on the site of the creative space “Tkachi”.

The event proved to be such a popular success. In our city people really love their neighbor-Finland. Adults and children took part in all interactive activities with great pleasure: they made wreaths, ate real Finnish fish soup, played with Angry Birds characters, got acquainted with different regions of Finland on special stands, studied Finnish words. Those who wanted could walk around the cabin of the Airbus A 350 XWB from Finnair or visit the masterclass for preparing coffee from Paulig. Loved by all travelers VikingLine held a lottery, where the grand prize was the cruise around the Scandinavian countries. Valio entertain guests with its dairy products. The Mummy Trolley Show pleased all the visitors with no exceptions.

Trade House Land, as Finland’s permanent partner in the distribution of finnish food, also took part in the Festival. Finnish products are always in high demand as finnish producers pay much attention to the history and quality of their products.

Finnsnack rye bread from a brick oven, licorice and chocolate candies Panda, drinks Marli, Real Snack chips from farmer’s potato , Finncandy marmalades, classic cucumber snacks Sauvon, crafted coffee Mokka Mestarit, traditional Finnish mustard Koti and other products awoke an echo in buyers heart. It’s amazing how many people came to our improvised supermarket at the Festival. Nobody left without purchases.
