In the period from March 20 to March 31, an event called “Days of Latvia” was held at the Stockmann gastronomy department (St. Petersburg).

The purpose of the event: the popularization of the Latvian food products.

Products from Latvia were marked with the logo “Magnetic Latvia”, an additional layouts of goods were organized, and a lottery was held with valuable prizes.

During the campaign, the customers of the Deli could get acquainted with a wide range of Latvian products, take part in the tasting of new Latvian goods, as well as purchase Latvian snacks, drinks, sweets and other products at reasonable prices.

From 26 to March 28, the Latvian chefs conducted cooking classes for visitors of the grocery store Stockmann. During the master-classes the chef of the famous Riga restaurant “3 pavāru”, demonstrated modern Latvian cuisine.

And on Wednesday, March 27, a solemn reception on the occasion of the Latvian Days in St. Petersburg was held in the Jazz conference room of the Solo Sokos Palace Bridge (Address: Birzhevoy pereulok, 2-4, St. Petersburg). At the beginning of the reception Mr. Maris Riekstins, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Russian Federation, made a welcoming speech. The reception was attended by foreign diplomats, representatives of the Latvian diaspora of St. Petersburg, businessmen, partners and media representatives.

The festive mood was supported by the Latvian folklore group “Dindaru”. As well as guests of the reception had the opportunity to taste Latvian food and drinks.
